Being someone who has loved Home Decor for as long as I can remember, I recognize that I have an eye for visually pleasing placement of objects, furniture layout, color schemes etcetera. There is one thing though that even I struggle with and that is MPSD-Multiple Personality Style Disorder. 😉
Today’s post is an impromptu one. While working on this week’s scheduled posts I sort of got in a rut and started the dreaded “I’m not good enough. She does so much more in a day. She is so much better at this than me.” You know? The ridiculous pity party. The comparison game. The driven by insecurities, downright ridiculous head game . It’s astounding to me how these thoughts seem to creep in at the most unexpected times. It typically is a result of one mere question to myself. “Am I good enough?” Having admitted these feelings with a group of girlfriends several months ago, I was shocked to discover that every single one of them confessed…… They too fall victim to this more often than they’d like to admit. Some even falling into depression as a result of it. And even more shocking? We ALL admitted that we felt alone in this. That most people don’t experience this. We proceeded to share real and very raw testimony of all of the body shaming, the sadness, the days when the voices had us convinced we were failures, doing LIFE all wrong.
Hey guys! Things have been a little crazy with Middle Sister as of late. Several new clients, working out the details of the future E Design portion of my business, new home improvement plans here in my own home and……. A trip scheduled next month for St. Lucia!!!
Well after a month long hiatus, I’m BAAAAACK. 😉
With my design business keeping me busy and my free time being spent working on the overall appearance as well as future post planning of my blog, I decided to take some time off. I’m so happy you’ve all been patient and hung in there with me! Thank you!!
If you’re like me, my last minute gifts are usually for the men on my list. Keeping with tradition, it was no different this year. The good thing? I think more creatively under pressure and in the past have gotten some pretty great gifts for my Mister just in the nick of time. If you’re still in a pinch, have no fear! I am here to help. And you still have time to order and receive before Christmas!
While I love a good smelling candle that fills my home with the scents of the Season, it is so difficult to find one that doesn’t contain synthetic scents. So my favorite go to all natural simmering potpourri is the perfect solution.
There are few things that go best with cold Winter days like a pot of soup, chili, Bisque, Chowder -you get my drift- simmering on the stove. There is something so nostalgic about the aromas of such filling the home on those bitter cold days. I have several favorites that I’ve compiled and look forward to sharing with you. This one is my favorite. What’s better is this is so easily doubled and frozen! Perfect for pulling from the freezer, thawing and re-simmering for those house guests I’m sure you’ll be having throughout the Holidays.
As promised, I’m providing Gift Guides each week, leading right up to those last days before Christmas. Of course those last days before can be quite hectic and we’ve ALL been in the situation where 3 days before the big day we realize “OH NO!!! I forgot such and such!!” But no worries, because I will be there to get you through it. And trust me, my gift buying is simple, smart and savvy. Same as my décor style! 😉
Welcome! Here in the South, we say “Come on in!” to our guests and today, that’s precisely what you are. A guest in my home. So grab a seat, a warm drink and let’s get started.
I’ve been working on a gift guide which I’ll be adding to weekly leading right up to Christmas. I’m excited about this one because gift giving is something that is just so endearing to me. I enjoy finding that perfect thing for that perfect someone on my list!
