Earlier this week I shared my tutorial for Bleached Pinecones. As promised, today I’m sharing with you my EASY garland made from those pinecones.
I’d been wanting to try this one for years. There’s several other DIY tutorials out there and I tested a couple of them with no intention of blogging my own. I just wasn’t getting the results I envisioned and so I did some minor tweaking and have two differing methods resulting in two differing shades.
Confession. I’ve never been a huge fan of Halloween. I know, I know. It’s a fun one and I don’t necessarily dislike it, really. My issue isn’t with the Holiday itself but that in years past I’ve struggled with finding a way to decorate for it in a way that I liked. How in the world can you take ghoulish and creepy and make it beautiful? Halloween wasn’t intended to be prissy or pretty. The majority of the décor that’s sold just doesn’t appeal to me and so it became the one Holiday I just couldn’t bring myself to even put a real attempt into decorating for.
Simple, Smart and Savvy. It’s my motto and for good reason.
Farewell Summer. You were so good to us, with your bright sun-shiny long days. Barbeques, pool time, front porch sittin’ with refreshing cocktails in hand. Fun in the Sun wonderful Summer. Ahhh, sweet sweet Summertime. You will be missed but Fall has just as many wonderful things to offer and so, it is time to move on.
It’s been exactly two weeks since I posted my 3 simple suggestions for easing into the fall decorating during the last days of Summer. If you missed that post you can catch it HERE. I talked then about my bittersweet feelings of Summer’s end. While I adore Fall, I find it so difficult to get into the spirit of Autumn with 90 degree days still among us.
Last year I took a chance. A big one. With my husband’s support and encouragement, I quit my job of nearly 9 years to pursue a lifelong dream-Interior styling. To my delight and surprise, I quickly gained clients and found myself happier than I could ever remember being.
If you’re like me and love Fall along with all of the décor and fashion staples that go along with it, you’re most likely itching to pull out the pumpkins, gourds, Autumn garlands, plaid throws, cable-knit everything and, well, you get my drift.
I have had many strawberry cakes in my life. Many lemon ones as well. However, none seemed to satisfy my need for the perfect punch of Strawberry AND Lemon. I had a feeling that I could create something even better. Here is what I came up with.
Hello there! Thanks for stopping by! You can learn a little more about the person behind this blog in the About Me section and periodically I will certainly be sharing more, but for now I’m wasting no time with Introductions. It’s taken me long enough to get here so I’m jumping right in with my first post which will be a DIY Boho-Style Wooden Bead Chandelier.
